ART FOR YOUR HOME

One of the fun things about artwork is that it doesn't always have to match perfectly with a specific aesthetic, it can flow with your space as it and you change and grow. Framing can be changed over time to match your new aesthetic as well. The artwork is more about a feeling, or the energy it gives to your space. 

Picture this: you’re in a completely blank white room, and  the work of art you've been considering to purchase for your home is the only thing staring back at you. How does this make you feel? If it’s a feeling you want in a specific space in your home, chances are it'll bring that vibe into your space. 

Ok, so, you’re looking to turn your house/apartment into a space that feels more like your home. While changing up rugs and furniture is a good way to go, there may be an easier place to start- and that’s with art!

Here are a few things to think about before looking for artwork: how do you want your space to make you feel? What vibes are you going for? Do you have an overall aesthetic in mind? How much room do you have to display a work of art? Do you want something for your wall, or a sculpture for an empty surface? What is your budget? 

Once you have the artwork in hand, consider the space in which it will be displayed. What do you think makes the most sense for your home? You can change the feeling of the space by adding or removing furniture, the textures and colors of other items in the room, and how many other items are in the room. If the painting speaks for itself, it may help to have less stuff around it.

You could also be a lover of furniture, or even plants, and purchase a painting that may not stand out on its own, but bring the room together as a whole. You can display artwork on its own, in a group in a gallery wall, even on shelves with other items. There really are no limits.
